1. What are the fees to establish water, sewer, and garbage?

Residential: A $100 Establishment Fee (non-refundable) is required for water service for all residential customers. Commercial: A $150 Establishment Fee (non-refundable) is required for water service for all commercial customers. No deposit required for sewer or garbage.

2. What do I need to bring to establish water service?

2 forms of identification
Close relative's name and address
Check or cash for payment of fees

3. If I apply for water service today, when will it be turned on?

Services are typically connected by the end of the next business day.

4. What happens if my water is disconnected for non-payment?

If payment is received by 3:00 pm the same day the water is disconnected, water will be reconnected the same day. Payments received after 3:00 pm will be reconnected the next business day. Payment must be made in full by cash or money order, including any late charges and reconnect fees.

5. How can I pay my water bill?

Direct Debit: Signed Authorization Agreement and copy of voided check required. Payments are deducted on the 10th each month. Agreement form may be requested at City Admin Office or by using the following Bank Authorization.

6. How do I cancel my existing water/sewer/garbage service?

Please contact our office during regular business hours to notify us of the date to cancel and your forwarding address for final billing and the return of any deposit.

7. What day is garbage collection?

Garbage collection is on Friday, unless collection day falls on or after one of the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In that case, pickup will be on Saturday. If you are not sure if the holiday will effect collection, please call the public works dept. at 901-853-4830 x1.

8. What if I need an additional cart for garbage/yard waste/recycling?

An additional cart is available for garbage, yard waste and/or recycling for $3.74 per cart, per month. Please call 901-853-4830 x1 or email your request to ccannon@pipertontn.com.

9. What if my garbage/yard waste/recycle is not collected?

Please contact the admin office as soon as you are able at 901-853-4830 x1. You can leave a message or send an email to ccannon@pipertontn.com if it is after hours. Do not contact Waste Connections directly. Please leave the cart at the road until it is collected. If not collected within 1-2 business days, please call the Piperton Admin Office again.

10. What if the alarm sounds on my decentralized sewer system?

Silence the alarm on the system. During business hours, please call 901-853-4830 x1. After business hours, please call (901) 316-8726.

11. When are backflow reports due?
