The City is currently proposing a recycling program for customers that wish to have this service. The cost will be $8.00 per month for pick-ups every other Friday. Customers choosing this service would receive a 96 gallon cart which is blue with a green lid. Printed basic guidelines for the program will be on the cart. Items that are accepted: Newspapers, magazines, phone books, catalogs, flattened cardboard boxes, aluminum and steel cans, plastics with codes 1-7 to include plastic bags. No glass products will be accepted at this time. All cans and bottles must be empty and rinsed clean. For convenience, items will not be required to be sorted; only one cart to push to the curb. The target implementation for this service is January 1, 2013. Currently we have 62 of the required 75 participants needed to begin this program. If you are interested and wish to sign-up, please contact Beverly Holloway at (901) 853-4830. Thank you
